Platte Valley hadn't done well against Eaton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Broncos won by a run and slipped past the Reds 6-5. For the Broncos, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Reds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Hazen Weber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Weber was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Nick Silvas was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Dagan Gomez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Platte Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Platte Valley's record now sits at 11-6. As for Eaton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.

Platte Valley will face off against Dawson School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Eaton, they will square off against Forge Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Fury will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Reds surely won't give up without a fight.
