Softball Recap: Southmont Mounties vs. North Putnam Cougars

In what's become a running theme this season, Southmont gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. Everything went their way against the North Putnam Cougars as the Southmont Mounties made off with a 16-6 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Southmont as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Southmont got a massive performance out of Mallory Mason, who went 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Grino, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and a triple.

On North Putnam's side, Morgan Mason made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Mackenzie Mason was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Southmont's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for North Putnam, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
