Cherokee had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hayesville Yellowjackets by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 2nd.

Cherokee had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-14, 26-24.

Joscelyn Stamper paced Cherokee's offense, picking up 24 kills. Stamper got some help from Lilly Lossiah and her 26 assists. Finally, Stamper was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Cherokee's record now sits at 19-8. As for Hayesville, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3.

Cherokee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Pisgah on the 29th. As for Hayesville, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against East Henderson on the 26th.
