Basketball Recap: The Classical Academy Gets the Win

The Classical Academy won the last time they faced Mitchell, and Ky Walker did his part to make sure it happened again. The Classical Academy Titans breezed by the Mitchell Marauders to the tune of 66-26 on Tuesday thanks in part to Walker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Ben Mullenix was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Mitchell lost, don't look at Caleb Curlett. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points.

The Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Mitchell, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Classical Academy will challenge Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. As for Mitchell, they will square off against Sierra at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mitchell is facing Sierra at the right time seeing as Sierra is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
