Soccer Game Preview: Clairemont vs. La Jolla Country Day

The Clairemont Chieftains will head out to square off against the La Jolla Country Day Torreys at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Jolla Country Day took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Clairemont, who comes in off a win.

Clairemont will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Friday, then bounced right back against Crawford on Friday. Clairemont came out on top against Crawford by a score of 4-2. Asher Korte-Saunders was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, La Jolla Country Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against San Dieguito Academy, falling 4-0. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Torreys struggled afterwards.

La Jolla Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Clairemont, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Clairemont took their win against La Jolla Country Day when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clairemont since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
