Basketball Game Preview: Perry Pirates vs. Lake Catholic Cougars

The Perry Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Lake Catholic Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Perry knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Lake Catholic likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Perry came up short against West Geauga and fell 77-70.

Meanwhile, Lake Catholic also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy by a score of 60-51. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Royals are ranked 131st).

This is the second loss in a row for Lake Catholic and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Perry couldn't quite finish off Lake Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 49-47. Can Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
