Baseball Recap: Floyd County Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Floyd County hadn't done well against Alleghany recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Buffaloes walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in April.

Adam Petty was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Floyd County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7. As for Alleghany, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Alleghany will challenge Wilson Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Floyd County will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' game: after the Cougars face off against Glenvar, they'll take on Floyd County again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
