Softball Recap: Amundsen Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Amundsen came into Friday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Glenbrook North Spartans 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since May 16, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Ashley Ellevog, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Araceli Condie-Espinosa, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Amundsen's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Glenbrook North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amundsen will host Clemente at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
