Baseball Game Preview: Parkville Knights vs. Perry Hall Gators

Parkville hasn't had much luck against Perry Hall recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gators at 4:00 p.m. Parkville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Parkville came out on top against Western Tech & Environmental Science on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wolverines 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since March 25th.

Collin Cuddy looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Parkville's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick Rodriguez, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Parkville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Perry Hall fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Western Tech & Environmental Science on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Wolverines. The Gators' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Parkville's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Perry Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
