Independence had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Trinity on Tuesday. The Blue Devils blew past the Trojans 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 8th.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Independence was: they took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 25-8.

Julia Jurkiewicz was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 21 assists and six aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Trinity, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Independence will be playing in front of their home fans against Padua Franciscan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Trinity, they will venture away from home to take on Richmond Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
