Soccer Recap: Whiteland Takes a Loss

If Whiteland was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Indian Creek on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Mooresville Pioneers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked Whiteland's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Noah Pope wasn't going to let Mooresville walk away unscathed as he scored both of Whiteland's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Whiteland has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four matches. As for Mooresville, their record now sits at 5-9-2.

Whiteland and Mooresville are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Warriors will take on East Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Central's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Mooresville, they will face off against Terre Haute North Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mooresville will need to watch out since Terre Haute North Vigo have now posted at least four goals in their last three matchups.
