Baseball Game Preview: Port Gibson Blue Waves vs. South Pike Eagles

For the second straight game, Port Gibson will face off against South Pike. The Blue Waves will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Port Gibson has lost four straight at home , while South Pike has lost three on the road.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Port Gibson turned things around against South Pike on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Eagles. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Blue Waves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Michael Evans made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Port Gibson is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-10 otherwise. Evans was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-5.
