The Vanden Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Vacaville Christian Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Vanden will be strutting in after a victory while Vacaville Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
Vanden barely beat Dixon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings blew past the Rams 12-2 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Ryan Cahalan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Cahalan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mariano Gonzalez, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Vanden is 3-1 when Gonzalez posts three or more hits, but 7-14 otherwise. Jackson Armstrong was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Vacaville Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Golden Sierra by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since May 1, 2024.
Like Vanden, Vacaville Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Zachary Romeo. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Romeo has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Dylan Eddings made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Devon Parrish also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Vacaville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Vanden, their record is now 10-15.
