Recap: Drumright Tornadoes vs. Braggs Wildcats

The Drumright Tornadoes put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They pulled ahead with a 53-52 photo finish over Braggs. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Drumright has scored all season.

It was another big night for Joseph Bray, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jonathon Chavez, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Drumright pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Braggs, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Drumright and Davenport will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Davenport will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Drumright is ranked 67th). Braggs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Webbers Falls at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
