Eaton is a perfect 10-0 against Platte Valley since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Reds will be playing at home against the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Eaton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Eaton made easy work of Valley and carried off a 16-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Reds, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Shane Welle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Welle was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Austin Edelmon looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
Back at the plate, Malaki Dalpra was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Everett Edinger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Eaton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it looked like the Kentucky Derby when Platte Valley faced off against Fort Morgan on Saturday. The Broncos fell 11-6 to the Mustangs.
Dagan Gomez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Silvas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Eaton has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Platte Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eaton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Eaton skirted past Platte Valley 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Reds repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
