Basketball Recap: Tiverton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cranston East last Friday, Tiverton came back down to earth. The Tiverton Tigers lost to the Durfee Hilltoppers on the road by a 53-38 margin on Monday.

Despite the loss, Tiverton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cami Oliveira posted 19 points along with six boards and three steals. Jah'Niece Branch was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.

Tiverton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Durfee, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Tiverton will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on St. Raphael Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Durfee will take on Dennis-Yarmouth Regional in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
