It was fun while it lasted, but City College's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Thursday. They took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edmondson-Westside Red Storm. The loss was the Black Knights' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, City College fell to 4-1. As for Edmondson-Westside, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

City College and West Catholic will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Edmondson-Westside, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Dunbar at 5:15 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Edmondson-Westside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Dunbar likes a good challenge.
