Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Sonora Wildcats

The Liberty Ranch Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Sonora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Liberty Ranch came up short against Ponderosa and fell 75-62.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Derek Nelson, who shot 58% from the field en route to 19 points. Everett Dixon was another key player, putting up 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sonora had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Big Valley Christian on Monday, falling 53-33. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Liberty Ranch couldn't quite finish off Sonora when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 50-48. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
