Baseball Recap: Moss Point Comes Up Short

Moss Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 8-2 to Bay. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Moss Point of the 10-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jonovan Thompson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevon Ford, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Moss Point's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Bay, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 2-23.

While Moss Point had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
