Baseball Recap: Francis Scott Key Takes a Loss

Francis Scott Key extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 3-10. They came up short against the Winters Mill Falcons, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 back in March.

Francis Scott Key saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Ricketts, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Winters Mill, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6-1. The game was the first time they have beaten Francis Scott Key on their field since March 27, 2023.

On Winters Mill's side, Jayce McDonald made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McDonald was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chase Seigal was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Lane, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
