Soccer Game Preview: Cave Spring vs. Hidden Valley

The Cave Spring Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Hidden Valley Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average (Cave Spring 0.2, Hidden Valley 0.3) so any goals scored will be well earned.

Cave Spring is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Glenvar, who was ranked 25th at the time (Cave Spring was ranked first). The Knights never let the Highlanders get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Hidden Valley waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bruins. Hidden Valley's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven matches.

Hidden Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-1-1. As for Cave Spring, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0-1.

Cave Spring came out on top in a nail-biter against Hidden Valley when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
