After only two runs in their last matchup, Columbus made sure to put some runs up on the board against Palmetto on Tuesday. The Columbus Explorers walked away with a 12-7 win over the Palmetto Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in February.

Wyatt Goins looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rafael Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jose Correa, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Columbus' record is now 10-2. As for Palmetto, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Columbus will take on Hialeah Educational Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbus' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Hialeah Educational Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Palmetto, they will challenge Braddock at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Braddock will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Palmetto surely won't give up without a fight.
