Volleyball Recap: Coldwater Comes Up Short

The Coldwater Cardinals didn't have quite enough to beat the Western Michigan Christian Warriors on Saturday and fell 2-1.

Mya Porter paced Coldwater's offense, picking up eight kills. Porter got some help from Brooklyn Closson and her 17 assists. Closson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Coldwater has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-15-4 record this season. As for Western Michigan Christian, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-12.

Coldwater has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Hastings on the 15th. As for Western Michigan Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against West Michigan Aviation Academy on the 14th.
