Recap: Wisner-Pilger Gators vs. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family
The Wisner-Pilger Gators scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wisner-Pilger's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emerson Bellar, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bellar has scored all season. Nevaeh Brown was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Wisner-Pilger back to even at 6-6. As for Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Wisner-Pilger will head out on the road to face off against Pender on Thursday. Pender is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Madison on January 18th. Madison is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
