Softball Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

After flying high against Port Barre on Wednesday, Notre Dame came back down to earth. The Pioneers fell just short of the Sam Houston Broncos by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Pioneers were not able to make up for their loss to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Valerie Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Maddy Teare was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sam Houston, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Notre Dame didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against John Curtis Christian on the 21st. As for Sam Houston, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-4 victory against St. Thomas More on the 21st.
