Basketball Recap: Accelerate Christian Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Accelerate Christian can now relate to. They took a blow against the Providence Academy Lions on Saturday, falling 75-31. The Warriors were down 62-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Josiah Parham was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 11 steals for Providence Academy. Parham is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezra Mauldin, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Accelerate Christian and nudges their season record down to 6-15. As for Providence Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Accelerate Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Providence Academy, they will take on Regents Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Regents Academy sitting on five straight wins and Providence Academy on four.
