Football Recap: Davenport Finds Playoff Glory Versus Calhoun + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Davenport walked away with it. They came out on top against the Calhoun Sandcrabs by a score of 38-28 on Friday. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Sandcrabs are ranked 296th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Barrett Fallon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 106 yards and three TDs, while also picking up 35 receiving yards.

Davenport's defense stepped up as well, laying out Ashton Sternadel four times. In that department, Nolan Brown was the leader with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 16.

The victory keeps Davenport at an undefeated 12-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 49.1 points this season. As for Calhoun, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Looking ahead, Davenport will square off against Bay City at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
