Baseball Recap: Woodstock Comes Up Short

Woodstock's last matchup with Aurora Central Catholic could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Blue Streaks came up short against the Chargers, falling 12-2. If the Blue Streaks were looking for revenge after losing 11-9 to the Chargers when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Woodstock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Max Haggerty also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Woodstock and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Aurora Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Woodstock will host Belvidere at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they will face off against Aurora Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
