Basketball Recap: Keaton Miller's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hunter over Maple Mountain

Hunter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 51-41 to the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles.

Hunter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keaton Miller, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Uluaki Taukiuvea was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Cole Erickson was the offensive standout of the game as he posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Liddiard, who had eight points.

Hunter's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Maple Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Hunter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-66 defeat against Kearns on the 3rd. As for Maple Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-45 victory against Cedar on the 4th.
