Volleyball Recap: Del Norte Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Del Norte gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the La Veta Redhawks. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

One reason for the win was Del Norte's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-10.

Del Norte found their leader in sophomore Brynley Brown, who had eight kills, seven digs, and four aces. Brown is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Caleigh Sierra, who had 24 assists and four digs.

Coincidentally, Del Norte and La Veta will both be playing Rocky Ford the next time they take the court. The Redhawks will head out to face the Meloneers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
