Baseball Recap: Ranchview Takes a Loss

Ranchview was the 16-4 winner over Jefferson when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Ranchview Wolves came up short against the Jefferson Patriots on Tuesday, falling 14-5.

Martin Samford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Ranchview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4-1 when he doesn't). Rushil Allada also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Ranchview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Jefferson, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ranchview will square off against Lake Dallas at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ranchview is facing Lake Dallas at the right time seeing as Lake Dallas is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Jefferson, they will take on Sunset at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunset's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
