Basketball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Central Saints vs. Binghamton Patriots

The Seton Catholic Central Saints will head out to take on the Binghamton Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Seton Catholic Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Seton Catholic Central will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Johnson City, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Seton Catholic Central walked away with a 66-53 win over Johnson City on Saturday. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Wildcats are ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Dempsey, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Dempsey a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Allan Eagles, who went 7 of 9 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Seton Catholic Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Binghamton humbled Union-Endicott with a 90-52 victory.

Seton Catholic Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Binghamton, they now have a winning record of 1-0.

Seton Catholic Central was able to grind out a solid win over Binghamton in their previous matchup back in January, winning 57-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seton Catholic Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
