Volleyball Recap: Ashtyn Collier's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Liberty over Rancho Verde

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Rancho Verde Mustangs. The Bison were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

While Liberty was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 25-22.

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashtyn Collier, who had five digs and one block. What's more, Collier racked up 33 assists, the most he's had over his last 15 games. Damian Cabrera was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Rancho Verde, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-8.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Moreno Valley on the 13th. As for Rancho Verde, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Vista del Lago on the 13th.
