Recap: IDEA Frontier College Prep vs. Progreso Red Ants
IDEA Frontier College Prep lost against the Progreso Red Ants back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. IDEA Frontier College Prep was outmatched by Progreso at home and fell 70-15. IDEA Frontier College Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-5.
Leading Progreso to victory were Lorena Cerda and Sophia Pecina. Cerda dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Pecina shot 5-for-7 from deep and dropped a triple-double on 40 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Pecina has scored at least 25% of Progreso's points. Another player making a difference was Analie Ontiveros, who scored 2 points along with 12 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for IDEA Frontier College Prep and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Progreso, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
IDEA Frontier College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lyford at 5:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Progreso, they will take on McMullen County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
