Baseball Recap: Anna Comes Up Short

Anna made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Melissa, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Coyotes fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Bretten Tardiff was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Anna's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-2. As for Melissa, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Anna will venture away from home to face off against Independence at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Melissa, they will welcome Denison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
