Basketball Recap: Heartland Comes Up Short

Heartland had taken Center Place down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Mustangs took a 44-29 bruising from the Golden Eagles. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Heartland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Josh Reed dropped a double-double with 17 points and 20 rebounds.

Heartland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Center Place, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Heartland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-25 loss against Northland Christian on the 5th. As for Center Place, they are taking a road trip to challenge Bethel Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
