Mt. Vernon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over the Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 52-50 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mt. Vernon's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Center Point-Urbana, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will challenge Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mt. Vernon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. As for Center Point-Urbana, they will face off against Marion/Newton Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
