Recap: Therrell Panthers vs. Russell County Warriors
The Therrell Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Russell County 80-42. While losing is never fun, Therrell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 419th in Georgia, while Russell County is ranked 57th in Alabama).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Woolridge, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Morion Mcwhorter, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Therrell has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Russell County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
