Baseball Game Preview: Winfield Warriors vs. Warrenton Warriors

Winfield will challenge Warrenton at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Winfield nor Warrenton posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

St. Charles hit Winfield with a four-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell 6-1 to the Pirates. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly five runs.

Winfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anderson Hudson, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Warrenton waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bulldogs.

Colin Disilvester was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Winfield and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Warrenton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
