Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garces Memorial Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-43 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Liberty saw an underclassman step up: sophomore BRYCE HANSON posted 16 points and four steals. The game was HANSON's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Carter Hanson, who earned eight points.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Garces Memorial, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-19.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-56 win against South on the 8th. Garces Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
