Two dominant signal callers in Zoey Brown and Ava Wotipka are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wildwood Wildcats will face off against the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wildwood will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Wildwood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They took down Tampa Catholic 20-6. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Crusaders are ranked 32nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy - Canyons came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Rams to the tune of 33-6. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Somerset Academy - Canyons' receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Jayda Simmons and Delanie Doty. Simmons picked up 127 receiving yards and one TD while Doty picked up 47 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Simmons has posted since back in February of 2024.

Wildwood's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 32.4 points this season. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, their record now sits at 16-3.

Wildwood and Somerset Academy - Canyons were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, but Wildwood came up empty-handed after a 14-13 loss. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
