Blair County Christian beat Johnstown Christian on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 53-32. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.
Blair County Christian found their leader in sophomore Jonathan Marucci, who went 10 for 17 en route to 20 points along with eight steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Marucci has scored at least a third of Blair County Christian's points. Caleb Hileman was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards.
Blair County Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Great Commission came up short against Huntingdon Christian Academy last Tuesday and fell 46-39. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Huntingdon Christian Academy 11-7 in the first quarter.
Blair County Christian will have to contain Landyn Summers as he made an impact in Great Commission's last game. He went 11 of 25 on his way to 22 points and six steals. Summers has become a key player for Great Commission: the team is 13-3 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Guise, who posted six points and nine rebounds.
Blair County Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Great Commission, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Blair County Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Great Commission struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
