Softball Recap: Milford Wins Going Away Against Piute

19 must be Milford's lucky number: they beat Piute with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Thunderbirds. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 16 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Miley Willden made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Willden was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jaidyn McMullin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kloee Dotson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Milford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Milford has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Piute, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

As of now, neither Milford nor the Thunderbirds have any future games scheduled.
