Opposing passers better start keeping an eye on Makayla Burlingame: she recorded her first sack on Thursday and we're guessing she's looking for more. She picked up four sacks, made four total tackles, and defended one pass, but sadly East Union still had to take a 27-21 loss at the hands of Kimball. We hope Burlingame's good performance is the first of many we'll see posted here on MaxPreps.com.

Looking ahead, Burlingame and East Union will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Tracy at 7:00 p.m. Sadly, Burlingame's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Lancers' eight-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Burlingame and the Lancers surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Wednesday's match.
