Geneva has gone a perfect 10-0 against Wheaton-Warrenville South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Geneva is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Geneva had just enough and edged out Naperville North 9-7.

Mason Bruesch was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Wheaton-Warrenville South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of York. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

Caleb Mease made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Nico Olszewski also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Wheaton-Warrenville South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Geneva, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Geneva came out on top in a nail-biter against Wheaton-Warrenville South when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
