Basketball Recap: Waskom Takes a Loss

Waskom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garrison Bulldogs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Waskom's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Garrison, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-7.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Waskom Wildcats face off against the Gary Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gary knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Waskom likes a good challenge. As for Garrison, they will take on Beckville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beckville will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Garrison surely won't give up without a fight.
