Volleyball Recap: Bishop Verot Gets the Win

Bishop Verot won the last time they faced Neumann, and Chase Hathaway did her part to make sure it happened again. The Vikings won by a set and slipped past the Celtics 3-2 with plenty of help from Hathaway, who had 20 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Bishop Verot got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-7.

Bishop Verot's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Neumann, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Bishop Verot will be taking part in a tournament against First Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Neumann has already played their next match (against Gateway Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
