Football Recap: Stephenville Piles Up the Points Against Marble Falls

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stephenville). They breezed past the Marble Falls Mustangs to the tune of 65-7 on Friday. Considering the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees have won six matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Stephenville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Briar Floyd, Elijah Rivera, and Jackson Richmond picked up one apiece. Floyd has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Richmond got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Stephenville pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 34.6 points thus far. As for Marble Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Stephenville and Marble Falls will both be playing Lampasas the next time they take the field. The Yellow Jackets/Honeybees will host the Badgers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.
