Softball Game Preview: Lawrence North Wildcats vs. Pike Red Devils

Lawrence North has gone 9-1 against Pike recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Lawrence North's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Pike has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.

Lawrence North lost 10-2 to Brownsburg on Monday.

Lawrence North saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaida Wheat, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Wheat is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Pike was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They came up short against Decatur Central, falling 21-2.

Pike also got a good showing from Jasmin Urcino, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Pike's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Lawrence North, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Everything went Lawrence North's way against Pike when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Lawrence North made off with a 17-1 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
