Football Recap: Montgomery Central Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Montgomery Central after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Lexington Senior who ended up claiming the real prize. The Timberwolves fell 21-13 to the Yellowjackets.

Noah Rodriguez threw for 91 yards on eight of 21 attempts. On the ground, Imon Freeman rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown.

A big part of Lexington Senior's win came down to the chemistry between Jaiden Summers and his top target Kamari McDonald. Summers threw for 232 yards and a pair of TDs while McDonald picked up 131 receiving yards and two scores. Those 131 receiving yards gave McDonald a new career-high.

Montgomery Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lexington Senior, they moved to 4-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Montgomery Central will face off against T.W. Andrews at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lexington Senior, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against High Point Central at 7:00 p.m. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Bison's rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.13 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
